(appended)

Thats is a very good question, and you are not alone in that. It is somthing that every Christian has to face and I believe that dieing to yourself is a day to day prosess it is not somthing that we can aquire overnight it's a struggle. The fact that this question is being asked proves that there is a desire change which means that the prosess has allready started. This scripture means a lot to me because it provides fundamentals on how to guage your progress.

Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

What David is saying is, a man that does not take part in ungodly things, associate himself with sinners or allow himself to be influenced by ungodliness, he will be blessed of God. So, if we are not entertaining ungodliness, than there is only one other option.

Psalms 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.

So to guage where we are is by takeing an overview of what we delite in and that will be what we meditate on. In other words what is our affection geard toward.

Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

1 Corrinthians 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

You may not be partaking in sinnful activities but how do you spend your time? is it expedient? Is it edifying to the body of Christ? A man that delighteth in the word will meditate on it and, because he meditates on it the more he will delight in it. And the result will be.

Psalms 1:3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

A tree that is deep rooted near a source of water will never have to worry about times of drought. The tree speaking of ourselves and the water, the Word which is Christ and the drought speaking of trials and such. So if we make a concious desicion to take God's word and meditate on it, the more we will delight in it. And find that the things of the outside world, fade away and in that, you will become fruitful. I hope this was able help in some way, It is a simple way of looking at it but it helped me to think about the everyday thoughts I entertain. Sure I understand that we have to live in this world but, we don't have to be apart of it. We can still choose what we listen to, what we look at, where we go. And because we profess and confess to be Christians and we should, God will allow satan to tempt you in those areas of weakness to see what you will do with what God has shown to you through revelation. And it will most likley be when you don't feel like a Christian. But trials come to strenghen your faith and you should never look at it in a negative way. In fact if you are going through a trial know that it is God's grace working in your life to perfect you. Just to prove to satan "heap it on buddy!" I will have overcomers because, I have allready overcome sin through my perfect sacrifice in Christ, Jesus. So it is more of an oppertunity than a trial.

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

May God bless you. and if you have any other questions reguarding this or any other topic please feel free to ask.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://does-it-reallymatter-qanda.blogspot.com/2008/04/re-how-do-you-die-to-yourself.html' title='Re: How do you die to yourself? I have visited your website and it has been a blessing to my soul. I'm very thankful and happy, that God has put it on your heart to provide a christian website such as this. It is a real blessing. I'm a young sister in the message. I'm seeking the Baptism of the Holyghost. I have three questions to ask: How do I receive the Holyghost? Also, I know that the Holyghost cannot come into a unclean vessel. So what is sanctification? Do you sanctify yourself or does God sanctify you? My heart's desire is to be a true christian. I know it is impossible to live a christian life without the Holyghost. I pray that God will continue to richly bless you, your family and your ministry. God Bless YouP.s I would like my identity to remain private please. Thank you
---------------------------------------
My sister I am Both honored and saddened By this Question.... I would ask that you go to your pastor and ask Him this as He is the one that is Your spiritual leader.... There are many People that disagree with what the answer is. So i am not going to answer it but what i will give you is what the Prophet said about this.... i also Hope that you can come to the Youth meeting>>>>>> Because it is for people just like you that My self and the other ministers are fasting for I hope this answer Will Help YOU........ KEEP ASKING FOR IT AND GOD WILL SURLY GIVE YOU THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART.... BIRTH.PAINS_ PHOENIX.AZ V-3 N-4 SUNDAY_ 65-0124 49 And so is it in the spiritual realm. It's water; justification by faith, believing on God, receiving Him as your personal Saviour, and being baptized. Second, is sanctification of the spirit, that God cleanses the spirit from all elements of the world, and the desire of the world. And then the Holy Spirit comes in and gives new Birth and fills up that sanctified vessel. For instance, like this. Now, that, I told you. What you don't believe, lay aside, then take the pie. Notice. Now, a--a glass is laying out in the chicken yard. You don't just pick that up and put on your table and fill it up with water or milk. No. By picking it up, is justification. Cleansing it, is sanctification, 'cause the Greek word sanctify is a compound word, which means "cleansed, and set aside for service." Not in service; for service. Then when you fill it, it is put in service. Excuse this now, not to hurt. There's where you Pilgrim Holiness, Nazarenes fail to walk on up into Pentecost. You was cleansed by sanctification; but when you were ready to put in service, by the gifts of speaking in tongues and other things, you turned it down, dropped back out in the pen again. See? Now, that's--that's what happens. It always does that. Now, not to criticize you now, but just I--I want to get this off my heart. And that's been burning me ever since I been here, so I might as well. Just, if Carl's grace, and Demos and them, and your all's, I--I'll try my best to deliver my soul from it, see, then it's up to you.Normal, typing the spiritual. Now, we find out then, and it's fully born. When the baby, usually... Now when the water breaks, you don't have to do very much about it. And when the blood comes, you don't have to do much about it. But, in order to get life in the baby, you've got to give him a spanking, and make him yell out. And that's a... Now, without education, as my brethren here are so well-trained to it, theirs, but I have to take nature to type it. And there you are. That's what happened. It taken a real spanking, to get this to them. Now, you take a little, some kind of a shock. Maybe, wouldn't have to spank him, but just shock him a little. The very idea of him being born, sometimes, will do it. Grab him, shake him. He don't start breathing, spank him a little, and then he yells out, in unknown tongues, to himself, I guess. But, he--he, anyhow, and he's making a noise. And I think if a baby is born just by--by stillbirth, with no sound, no emotion, that's a dead baby. That's what's the matter with the church today, the system; we got too many stillborn children. That's right. They need a Gospel spanking, you see, and so to wake them up, to bring them to themselves, so that God can breathe the breath of Life into them. And now we find that that's so true. It's crude theology, but it's the Truth, anyhow.
Br Hugo

A Question From An Anonymous Sister

Question -

Dear Brothers in Christ,
Greetings in the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I know it is impossible to live a christian life without the Holyghost. I pray that God will continue to richly bless you, your family and your ministry.

Answer -

Dear Sister,
God Bless you! First let me say this,

Mat. 5
6] Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

So Sister, BLESSED are you for your hunger! God has an appointed a time for every elect child of God to be quickened down inside, and I can see he is starting to stir your heart.

I will have to answer in three different parts.

To your first question...

Peter was asked the same question that you have asked, so let me give you his answer to start with..

ACTS 2
[37] Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, **what shall we do?** [38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. [39] For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

The Prophet of God taught us that true repentance is to "Turn" from your sins and go the other way.

So first your heart must be ready to repent. Your level of "Victory" will always depend on your level of "Repentance" Remember that.

You receive the Holy Ghost by you recognizing that this is the truth, and it goes further than "Mom and Dad" told me it was true, but the bible says..

Phil. 2 [12] ..... work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Also know this....If you are God's child, then you were ALWAYS God's child and will ALWAYS be. But if you are not, then you never were and NEVER will be.

You see there is only one form of Life, and that's God's life ZOE life, and that life is ETERNAL. Everything else is DEATH ultimately. So if you have God's life in you, then you always had it. You were a part of God before the foundation of the world, but you came through SEX, you "Bypassed" your theophany to come here and be tried and tested on earth. But God put a "seed gene" or a "homing beacon" I like to call it, that when you HEAR from HOME through the word, then you recognize and act on that.

That is why Brother Branham said,

WHO.IS.THIS.MELCHISEDEC_ JEFF.IN V-5 N-10 SUNDAY_ 65-0221E
88 Then after you recognize the very Word of God was Eagle Food, then you left the other thing. You've then been formed into the living image of the living God. You heard from your theophany. "

So you actually hear from your REAL life. The one you were BORN to be. Then God quickens that "seed" that was always just in "Seed" form, and puts some moisture of the word with it and it come to life inside of you.

You see, your a type of the earth before God removed the darkness. The earth was covered by darkness, just like you. All the seed for every tree and plant and everything was laying in the soil, but it was just "Seed Form" but when God removed the Darkness , and the Logos or the Light moved out over the seed, then it quickened to life and came forth! That is a perfect type of the "New Birth", God removing the darkness.

That is just the foundation through "Justification" believing on the Lord Jesus and forsaking "Egypt" and "coming out".

After you have repented and TRULY surrendered your life to God, then you get baptized, which is just an outward profession of Faith, to show what has taken place down inside! Because no "DEATH" is complete without a burial and no new Birth is complete without a resurrection of new life. Your sanctified through the offering of his Blood, washing our sins away and then filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

I will go into depth on the next post for the next question you asked "What is Sanctification?" But let me finish with a couple quotes...

ADOPTION.1_ JEFF.IN AD.1 SUNDAY_ 60-0515E
44 That's where the believer comes. He comes first to a** recognition** that he's a sinner; then he is separated by the waters, the washing of the water, by the Blood, and--or the washing of the water by the Word, rather, believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. Then, being justified by faith, he becomes a partaker, and at peace with God through Christ, baptized into the Name of Jesus Christ to omit him into the journey. You get it? Into the journey. Then he becomes a sojourner and a pilgrim. He's on his journey to what? *A promise that God made*.

ADOPTION.1_ JEFF.IN AD.1 SUNDAY_ 60-0515E
45 Israel had not yet received the promise, but they were on their journey. And without, raising... Please do understand. That's where you, the Nazarene and Pilgrim Holiness, and so forth, fell. Because Israel, when they come to the spot of Kadesh-Barnea, when the spies went over and said, "The land is great."
But some of them come back and said, "We can't take it, because the cities are walled up, and so forth."
But Joshua and Caleb stood out, and said, **"We're more than able to take it."** Because of their already signed-up documated statements, they believed in two works of grace, justification and sanctification, and could not move any farther. And listen, that** whole generation perished in the wilderness** but two that went over into the promised land and brought back the evidence that it was a goodly land, "and we were more than able to take it, **because it was God's promise."** Then instead of the people going on, receiving the Holy Spirit, speaking with tongues, receiving the power of God, the baptism of the Holy Ghost, signs, wonders, miracles, they felt that it would break down their tradition of doctrine. And what happened to it? *Perished in the land.* That's right.

ADOPTION.1_ JEFF.IN AD.1 SUNDAY_ 60-0515E
46 But the believers, the Caleb and Joshua outfit, that was going on to the promise, they moved on over into the land, and took the land, and settled down in the land* as a possession *. And we ***never stop*** at justification, sanctification. Let's** go on to the baptism of the Holy Spirit**. Let's not stop at believing on the Lord Jesus, being baptized. Let's not stop because He cleaned us up from a life of sin. But now we pressed on into a **position**, to a promise of the baptism of the Holy Ghost. For Peter said on the day of Pentecost, "For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to them that's far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."

God bless you Sister, I pray this answers your first question...
